Empirical evidence and insights from the theoretical literature concerning the development of a multilevel pattern of political representation are discussed. A data-based illustration about the relevance of the supranational dimension in the emerging of new modes of political expertise and new patterns of political career, in the context of  multilevel system of political representation, will be organized by the instructor stimulating oral presentation by students (Prof. L. Verzichelli).

• How to ask relevant questions about elites’ role in the transformation of political representation within a multilevel scenario.
